Building the Railway        loco_animation_thumb.gif (3004 bytes)

With Phase 1 a success, we are now in Phase 2. Our current progress, with details at the links on the right:
bullet Do essential administration: Permission, Liability insurance, adequate funding, sufficient members to do the work, effective plans
bulletGet Rolling Stock - we acquired a gas-powered switcher and 4 cars in December 2011, and are restoring them over the winter-spring 2012. See more photos here. Then will come a hand car and a more authentic logging locomotive.
bullet Build a loading - unloading point  so borrowed equipment can arrive and depart quickly and safely
bulletExpand Track - starting with the current 230' loop and 700' of track and 8 switches we acquired from Nanaimo in Dec 2011, we hope to install up to 1500 feet of track from the developed area of the Paradise Valley Exhibition Park into the treed areas around the facility. the 2012 expansion is well underway.
bulletBuild a Car Barn approx 10’x20’ to house the rolling stock (this is long term; we can transport equipment in-out each operating day for a long time)
bulletBuild a model environment. construct buildings and landscape features that enhance the ride experience

to review the details, start with how we built Phase 1 or getting permission to expand
